Who is at risk of having an opioid overdose?

Visit Canada.ca

addiction and dependence

Dependence happens when opioids take over your body, but addiction happens when opioids take over your life.  Drug overdoses are the leading cause of accidental death in North America. Drugs - especially opioids, which are the most powerful kind of painkiller - had killed more people than guns, cancer, or car crashes. Therefore, opioid addiction is a lifelong disease, which is an illness that prevents the mind and body from working normally. But a little knowledge and caution can go a long way toward preventing addiction. Ask for help.
